Name: Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Oil

Color and aroma: German chamomile oil has a dark blue color. The blue color is due to chamazulene, which is not present in the fresh herb, but is formed in the process of distillation. Other major components of chamomile oil are farnese and bisabolol oxide.

Aroma: deep, tart, grassy, balsamic, with a hint of hay, tobacco, sweet spices and fruits, persistent.

Extraction by steam distillation.
German chamomile oil is combined with: bergamot, geranium, lavender, lemon, oregano, nauli, ravensara, rosemary, tea tree.
